SecurTech was founded in 1986 by Robert Perry, a machinist and model-maker at the California Institute of Technology, then the University of Hawaii, and finally Lewis and Clark College. He developed the SecurTech anchor-and-cable system to prevent theft of computer and A/V equipment on campus.
Mr. Perry's philosophy was to combine strong physical security with permanent marking on the equipment. He also believed in manufacturing high-quality, made-in-the-USA products. The SecurTech product line is the result of this strong philosophy combined with decades of experience and years of field testing.
The SecurTech assets were acquired from the Perry family in 2009 by a former employee and partners. The strong tradition of quality products and personal service has been combined with an updated business and technological approach.
